HOUSE OF CULTURE MALACKY

The building becomes part of the square, it is an open forum, it responds to the needs of the city, its premises can be modified. A direct connection to the exterior, as a stable element is the preserved skeleton of the original high-rise building, enriched with a programmable stage. HCM directs the flow of visitors, locals and users, it is not just one solitaire on the corner of the square, it is its active living component.

HCM as a laboratory. Concerts, theatre, market, Expo, flora, circus, sports arena, gallery, fair, sports exhibitions, film studios, shopping mall, or an innovative campus under one roof.

Against the general current isolation of cultural buildings, we are considering a new integrated “urban” cultural centre. The general spaces of the program (public social spaces of the commune) begin to settle between the main program nuclei, and define the differences between spaces. This “sediment”, the intertwining of exterior and interior, offers new opportunities for interaction, collaboration, exchange and creativity. HCM as the definition of a skeleton, a skeleton that provides a multitude of configurations for learning, creating.

HCM as an urban space full of terraces, squares, corridors, streets, balconies.

HCM as a city within a city.
